Heidi has spent the majority of her career managing and supporting complex environmental cleanup sites in Oregon. She has in-depth knowledge of CERCLA and state environmental cleanup regulations, and has built excellent working relationships with many regulatory agencies. This helps her provide the effective regulatory negotiations that are critical to effectively completing cleanup project objectives.
Heidi helped the City of Portland meet the requirements of its underground injection control (UIC) water pollution control permit, the first permit of its kind awarded by the state. She helped develop the approach for a risk-based groundwater protectiveness demonstration that estimates pollutant attenuation during transport through the unsaturated zone. The fate and transport model has helped several municipalities meet UIC permit requirements. In 2012, Heidi received an award for her UIC work for the City of Portland from the Oregon Association of Clean Water Agencies (ACWA).
Before joining GSI, Heidi worked for the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), where she worked on three projects within the Portland Harbor Superfund Site.
