Ashland WMCP Development

GSI helped the City of Ashland update its WMCP.

GSI updated the City of Ashland’s 2013 WMCP to meet state requirements and to gain full access to Ashland’s permit for Lost Creek Reservoir, which is necessary for Ashland to meet future demand. Our robust demand projections incorporated the potential impacts of climate change on the City’s three water supply sources and on water supply demands. GSI also facilitated community meetings during the development of the WMCP that helped inform the plan’s content and focus, particularly for the conservation program. The final WMCP was approved by the Oregon Water Resources Department and provides an important blueprint for the City’s ongoing management of its water supply.

 GSI’s work involved:

  • Conducting an-depth review of the impacts of climate change on future water supply and demand.
  • Facilitating public meetings during WMCP development process.
  • Helping the City secure access to an important source of supply (Lost Creek Reservoir).
