Ben has more than a decade of experience working on environmental projects throughout the Pacific Northwest for private industry, utilities, ports, government agencies, and tribes. Ben has applied his knowledge of hydrogeology, geomorphology, chemical fate and transport, and non-aqueous phase liquids (NAPL) mobility to address many challenges. He has led complex sediment and upland investigations for Superfund (CERCLA) projects and state-led cleanup programs, supported maintenance dredging and sediment remediation programs, developed surface water and groundwater quality monitoring programs, and aided in the design of site remedies.

Prior to joining GSI, Ben worked as a water quality specialist at the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), where he led investigations focused on characterizing the presence of toxic compounds in the environment throughout the state, and as a senior consultant for an environmental consulting firm.
