John has three decades of consulting experience focused on water resource management and planning, with an emphasis on quantitative hydrogeology, numerical modeling, and climate-change assessments that examine watershed conditions and support local and regional water supply planning. His experience focuses on basin-scale water resource studies and local-scale groundwater supply planning for municipal water providers, including groundwater supply source resiliency studies, well interference and wellfield operations management evaluations, groundwater/surface water interaction studies, and groundwater quality evaluations. He has also provided contaminant migration assessments for landfills and sites undergoing environmental study and remediation.

As GSI’s lead groundwater modeler, John has developed and applied numerical groundwater models in a variety of groundwater basins in the western United States, and has served as project and technical manager for modeling studies and hydrogeologic studies that clients have used to support permit applications for water supply and environmental management programs.
